     De Pere locked up its fifth division championship in six years and became the first team to qualify for this season's Fox River Valley American Legion League playoffs with a 16-5 victory at Denmark on July 14.
     De Pere improved to 11-0 in the East Division with the victory and clinched the crown with three league games remaining. De Pere can assure itself home field for the American Conference championship game on July 23 with two wins in its final three games.
     Alex Byrne was three-for-five to lead a 15-hit De Pere attack and Kevin Hoeksma earned the victory by scattering 11 hits in the five-inning complete game. De Pere led 8-5 entering the fifth inning and struck for eight runs to end the game by the 10-run rule.
     De Pere also won the East Division title last season and has now won 26 straight league games. It won three straight North Division championships from 1999-2001 and went on to win the league title each time.
