De Pere Beats
Appleton Rebels For State Title
De Pere became the first team in 10 years to repeat as
Class AAA state champions as it beat the Appleton Rebels 11-1 on Sunday in
Eau Claire in the first-ever all-Fox River Valley League state final.

Rallies Past National For All-Star Victory
The American Conference rallied for a 9-5 victory after
trailing the National Conference 5-1 in the sixth inning of the annual
League all-star game on August 22 in Kimberly. Photos of the teams can be

De Pere
Knocked Out of National Regional
De Pere was eliminated from the Central Plains National
Regional in Omaha, Neb. on Friday with a 7-2 loss to Johnson County, Iowa.
De Pere lost its opening game to Sioux Falls, S.D. 7-6 on Thursday and
finished the season 40-14 overall.

League All-Star Rosters Announced
The rosters for the 2004 Fox River Valley American
Legion League All-Star Game have been announced. The game will be held on
Sunday, August 22 at Sunset Park in Kimberly and will feature 54 of the
league's top players divided among the American and National Conference.

Three players became their team's first-ever Fox
River Valley American Legion League individual award winners as eight
players were honored for their achievements in the 2004 season.

Final
State Legion Poll Released
The final Legion baseball poll of the season has
been released on July 27 with regional play opening this week. Plover took
over the top spot in Class AAA, while Beaver Dam stayed atop Class AA and
Viroqua remained No. 1 in Class A.

Hortonville
Achieves League Title in Dramatic Fashion
Dan
Immel’s run-scoring single with two outs and two strikes in the bottom
of the seventh inning lifted Hortonville to its first Fox River Valley
American Legion League title since 1997 with a 3-2 victory over Pulaski on
July 26 in Hortonville. more.

Hortonville
and Pulaski to Meet in League Final
Hortonville won its second straight National
Conference title with a 12-4 victory over Green Bay Southwest, while
Pulaski won its first American Conference crown by outlasting De Pere 7-5
in nine innings in the Fox River Valley American Legion League playoffs on

Southwest Takes South Division Title
Green Bay Southwest gained its second South
Division title in three years and claimed the league's final playoff spot
after Neenah knocked off Appleton Legion 8-5 on July 22 in Neenah.

First North Division Title
Pulaski ended Shawano's reign as two-time
defending league champions and claimed the Fox River Valley American
Legion League's North Division championship with a 7-4 victory on July 21

Hortonville Captures West Division
Hortonville will defend its National Conference
title after winning its second straight West Division crown with a 10-5
triumph over New London on July 19 in Hortonville.

Up East Division Title
De Pere locked
up its fifth division championship in six years and became the first team
to qualify for this season's Fox River Valley American Legion League
playoffs with a 16-5 victory at Denmark on July 14.

Legion All-Star Teams Announced
For the second straight year, 13 Fox River Valley American Legion
Baseball League players are among 54 players selected to the annual Wisconsin
American Legion Baseball all-star game on Sunday, August 15 at Miller Park
in Milwaukee.
